Black and White Wiki

The Ape is one of the starting Creatures in Black and White 2.

Good Ape, Neutral Ape, and Evil Ape.

Good Ape, Neutral Ape, and Evil Ape.

He's inquisitive and curious, and requires (and appreciates) a lot more attention than, say, the more hide-away Wolf. He's a relatively good fighter, delivering muscle and might, intelligently and strategically utilizing his available Miracles, and knows what he's doing. He's generally the most intelligent out of all the creatures.

He's intrinsically naïve, trusting and loyal, and knows his own strength enough to know when to exert it, and when to temper it with patience and wisdom. As with any other Ape, he's moderately fast, and both clever & versatile with his innate tools (his hands), and the tools you supply him with, from the world around him. Perhaps even devastating with a weapon, such as if he wields a tree as a sort of mace.

The Ape's Efficacy When Assigned a Role[]

  • The Entertainer: A good god can make for an absolutely excellent, playful Entertainer of their villagers, with the Ape, in how similar and humanoid Apes are to villagers, relating to them, being playful and curious, and caring for villagers as one of its own; as well, it can pump up and put a fire in the hearts of your platoons, utterly maximizing their morale, in knowing they have such a gigantic beast of war and sheer force to be reckoned with, heading their assault, as its angry screams fill the air of the battlefield.
  • The Gatherer: A good, or industrious god might find the Ape excellent at making good use of his hands, tending woodlands with care, and watering fields, and gathering crops in bulk and other resources, such as uprooting large trees (and even throwing them to your Storehouse). However, his greatest distractions might be villagers, activity outside of your city walls, or simply the world around him (if not the allure of playing innocently with farm animals wandering through meadows). Likewise, the Ape might be inclined to take a break, to sit down and monkey around for a bit.
  • The Builder: A wholly industrious god might find that the Ape can put its mind to raising the better parts of entire cities' building foundations, efficiently transporting building materials, focusing his mind on bringing a project to completion, and even helping tend to and repair damaged buildings, throwing resources where they need to go, and morally supporting Disciple builders.
  • The Soldier: Lastly, a defensive or aggressive god may find that, when a Ape is pointed to the battlefield, it will excel at enduring the hunt for its enemy, outlasting its enemy in combat, stomping and crushing, throwing and decimating enemy platoons, and especially siege engines. Likewise, quite an intimidating deterrent for enemy platoons on the assault, due to its potential for exerting utter rage, territorial displays of aggression (beating its chest after it conquers an enemy Creature), and its challenging roars, let alone its sheer size, dwarfing mortal men more than ten-times over.

He is most inclined to be Neutrally aligned, suiting his intelligence and moderate combat skills, with an equal capacity to do great, vicious harm; or gentle, kind good.

The monkey has a body press similar to the cow's, but will attack less often after this, allowing the enemy to land more retaliation damage. He also sometimes uses a finishing move in Creature combat, which is quite impressive, but will oftentimes leave him vulnerable to being attacked for a longer time. Potentially, the weakest fighter.
