In-game description

The most basic Dwelling, functional but nothing else. Hovels do not make Towns look nicer, and many situated close together will develop into slums, making the inhabitants unhappy

Info

A hovel is the most infamous & not-so-popular of your villagers' dwelling options.

Despite their cheapness, a good God would tend to provide their followers with Villas or better, since production of hovels produces lingering unhappiness (lack of productivity) to those who lives within, and those living nearby.

To boot, Hovels also produce some of the lowest impressiveness in the game.

For evil Gods, it's a good, sustainable early option for producing massive populations, until you take up more land with homes, than with trees.

Although Hovels have a generally lower capacity, not only is it cheap to build, but it's small, and thus space efficient in housing villagers.
